Drinkwell Creative is the in house design service division of Pithy Little Wine Co. that designs and develops wine labels for individuals and businesses in the wine trade.
After your initial consultation with one of our designers, you will receive a personalized Drinkwell quote and contract. As soon as we receive your signed contract and initial deposit of 30% we begin your label design project. Generally, it takes between 14-30 days from when a design contract is signed and received depending on the number of cases needed and design elements. Should you choose to add any additional Premium Services to your label design, like foiling or embossing, add an additional 5-10 days of production to your order.
After our initial consultation, we provide each client with an quote, timeline and estimated completion date. This date is based on the time needed to design and print the labels. We encourage clients to be accessible throughout the process to review designs and approve proofs as outlined in the timeline. Failing to respond to design reviews and proofs in a timely manner may delay the project completion date. We will keep you informed throughout the process of any changes to the completion date.
If you are unable to pick-up your wine, we can ship or store the wine for you to pick-up at a later date. Wine shipping is available for a flat rate of $10 per case for ground shipping. Expedited shipping is available for additional fees. We can hold the wine for pick-up for 15 days at no charge. We can continue to store the wines for you for a storage fee of $10 per case per month for a period of no more than 6 months.
We may be able to process a rush order for you. We make every effort to accommodate the needs of our clients. Additional fees will apply. Please fill out our interest questionaire ASAP and a designer will contact you.
We create professional looking wine labels designed to meet the individual needs of our clients. We believe each client's label is unique and do not limit you to pre-designed templates, limited font choices, paper stock or finishes. Instead we offer choices throughout the process to create a truly custom label. Your label is full bleed printed by a professional printing company specializing in wine packaging. We also offer Premium Services that help take your label to the next level, including custom dies, embossing, & foil. The finished label & wine is the same professional quality you would find on retail store shelves. View our portfolio to see the Drinkwell Creative difference.
Much like when you picked the paper for your wedding invitation, personal stationary or business cards, we offer up to 10 different paper stocks to choose from. Papers can be smooth, have texture and all absorb inks differently. We will use our years of experience in wine packaging to make paper stock reccomendations we feel will make your label design come to life.
Some labels can be fully moisture proof and will not come off the bottle if submerged in water or ice. Some will absorb water and can peel off if submerged in water or ice for long period of time. All of our labels are sealed so the inks will not run or smudge even when submerged in water or ice. The type of label stock and finishing applied determines the amount of moisture protection. Please discuss with your label designer all of the options available for moisture proofing.
Foiling adds metallic materials to a label such as gold or silver. Embossing creates texture on a label adding a raised effect to text or logos. Both processes require an individual tooling piece be made to add these elements to the label during production. A special plate is made to achieve the process for an additional $600 per plate.
During the printing process a finish is applied to the front of the labels to lock in the ink preventing bleeding and smudging. This finish also determines the sheen and luminosity of a label. Your label designer will recommend finish options that will best meet the needs of your label design concept.
The wines used for Drinkwell Creative projects are produced by our parent company Pithy Little Wine Co. a California bonded winery.
We offer wines in two price tiers. Our Premium wines offer a blend of superior quality wine for clients working within a budget. Through efficient winemaking we are able to offer these exceptional wines at a great value price. Reserve wines are produced in smaller quantities exhibiting varietal character from some of California’s finest vineyards. Clients wishing for a more specialized wine can choose from our Reserve wine selections.
The process of printing labels requires set-up & tooling to print and die cut the label. The set-up, tooling and die cut fees remain the same whether you're printing one or one hundred cases. Therefore, the individual cost per label reduces exponentially the more cases you order. All set-up charges are included in our all inclusive pricing on our basic price list. Additional set-up fees may apply if you select a custom made die or foiling from our Premium Services. Any additional fees will be detailed in your Drinkwell Creative quote.
We break up payment of your project into three stages. After your initial Drinkwell Creative consultation your designer will create a custom quote and design contract for your label project. Your project will begin production when we receive an initial non-refundable deposit of 30% of quote and a signed contract. Should you need to cancel or abandon your project we retain this deposit. Your next payment of 50% of the initial quote is due at the time you approve your final label proof. This payment is also non-refundable. Should you choose to cancel or abandon your project after this stage we retain all payments made to date. At the completion of the project the remaining balance is due.
We accept credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover), cash or check. If you choose to pay by cash or check you will still be required to complete a credit card authorization form with your submitted contract as a guarantee of payment for services.
